Josh Lasden and Synoptic ::. |
|
|
The first 4-tracker from the hand of Josh Lasden and Synoptic, from Ghent-Belgium, touches many electronic music hearts!
The A-side opens with the delicious 10daysoff remix, specially made for the 10 years celebration of 10daysoff, runs with a rolling bass and a progressive house touch softly emerging towards a powerful break using sexy trumpets, a soft jazzy piano, smooth Rhodes and the old jingles of the radio program. Feel the emotions when all keys are working together!
A-2 brings you the Original version perfectly balanced for radio use, opening with crystal-clear emotional keys bringing in a great summer feel.
The flipside offers 2 charming minimal remixes. The first remix is made by label managers Quincy and Ben Milo or ‘Soul Phonic’ digging deeper and shaping it in a creative soundscape. B-2 delivers the restyled house-minimal remix of coming talent ‘Wings of Sound’ using jiggly bleeps and cuts all over.
The EP stands for Josh’ El Futuro concept since 1998, from radio program to party concept and now there’s the twelve inch! The 10daysoff remix caused a serious stir on 10days and in the Belgian dance-scene.

Dj Homewrecker - Go Mobile (AJ 004) ::. |
|
|
Dj Homewrecker does it again, this time on the fourth release of this new, but promising label!
FAT is what I would use to describe this 12" in one word.
On the A side "Go Mobile". Funky beats blended with a rolling bass that makes you move onto the dance floor. But what makes this track so fine is the vocals! "Say what?"
On the B-side "Digivitis". An energetic jacking house track. Bleeps & beats for the later hours.
Aaaah yeaaah! Available in the shops 19/09/2005.

Ion - Everything (Aroma 43) ::. |
|
|
The new Aroma smells good! Ion, also known as Brian Michael, makes his debut on Aroma after doing some releases on Headset & Afterschool.
On the A side “Everything” A relaxing house track with a deep bassline and a hypnotizing voice. Something to enjoy while we say goodbye to the "summer".
On the B side “Ain’t missin you” a smooth, dance floor-driven house track with jacking beats.
No parking on the dance floor!
Out on Aroma, 12th of September. Get yourself Ionised!

Adaptor - Universe (Rhythmetic 02) ::. |
|
|
Universe is the second release of the young Greek record label Rhythmetic based in Athens. Behind Adaptor is the new project of the label founder CJ-jeff and hwc, his partner in studio. The first track is called Galactica, a slamming electro minimal track with a heavy insistent bass line that is going to stuck you on the dancefloor. My preferred!
Then comes Universe, a techy-atmospheric track filled with sensual vocoded vocals. On the other side, Kiki signed a hypnotic “superdub” remix of Universe.
A really nice release of a young label to discover. Go for it!

E-Troneek Funk - A blast from the past vol2 (E-Troneek / Dialect Records) ::. |
|
|
After a first EP called « A Blast From The Past volume 1 » released in 2001 on the label Fast Forward, E-Troneek Funk aka Cyril K is back with a volume 2, this time released on his own label, E-Troneek, division of Dialect Records, managed by Simon Says and himself. The title of the EP and the message on the B face “Respect to the Old School” give the impression to dive in the past, back in 10 years ago, however mixed with a modern approach.
My favourite track is definitely “It’s Called House”: acid bass line, dynamic violins and oldschool-sang vocals that rock your socks off… a pure pleasure. “Till U Drop” is in the same way, with a heavy and kicking bass line, some pop / new wave synthesizer and the same catchy voice.
A really nice crossover between oldschool and actual stuff!
